Zhenya was a little embarrassed to admit that part of the reason he had green-lit this trade to Pittsburgh in the first place was because of Crosby himself: his insane hockey, his wolfish smile, the lingering remnants of Zhenya’s boyhood crush. Zhenya propped his stick against the wall and stuck out his hand to shake.
“Hey,” he said, smiling and hoping it didn’t look too stupid. “Evgeni.”
But Crosby didn’t take off his gloves and shake hands like Hornqvist had. He waved his hand in apology, thick inside his dirty glove. “Hey,” he replied curtly. “Sid.”

Patrick is splayed out across his own bed, breathing hard with his hair curling out in five different directions. Jonny smugly clicks the television off with the remote, and then tosses the pillow next to him so he can climb under the sheets. Patrick sits up after a minute, tucks his hand under his chin and abruptly swipes his hand out into a point, straight at Jonny, with a glare.
Jonny blinks, and then Patrick translates. It figures the first thing Jonny’d learn in sign language is 'fuck you'.

Summary

Guard Barnes—Bucky—has come to the Kingdom's largest horse fair to find a new horse. He's supposed to choose from one of the approved horses; instead he finds himself buying a tall, skinny, angry stallion with the ridiculous name of Steve. Bucky can't leave him behind, but he's nothing like what Bucky's looking for and everything Bucky doesn't want.
But Bucky's more right than even he knows because Steve's not a horse at all. He's a man under a curse, victim of a powerful sorcerer's temper and magic, and he's bound to never, by action or deed, reveal what he truly is.

He put his hands on the base of Sid’s t-shirt and rucked it up a little, revealing the warm skin of Sid’s stomach—tanned a bit, this far into the summer—and something he wasn’t so familiar with: a thin line of dark hair running between Sid’s belly button and the waistband of his shorts.
Zhenya stared for a second, mouth agape. Surely he would have noticed before, if Sid had any hair here, but there was no way. Every time that Zhenya had gotten him naked he’d been as smooth as he had been at nineteen, skin pink and shiny and warm to the touch. Zhenya had always just figured Sid was one of those guys who didn’t grow much—it wasn’t like Zhenya himself had anything much to write home about.
