Towards the end of Todoroki's, Bakugou's and Midorya's intership, they re finally allowed to handle a case on their own. Though this should be an exiting moment for them, the case ends up being grim and Shouto doesn't know how to handle it.
TW : mention of past child abuse, description of injuries, panic attack (sort of), mention of self harm

Shoto wipes his eyes. “… You’re better at this than I thought you’d be.”
“Don’t get used to it. I’m only nice to sad bastards once a month.”
“And if I have a loyalty card?”
“Not a chance in hell. What do I look like? A grief punch card? No special treatment.”
“I’ll file a complaint with your manager.”
“That’s me. And I’m hanging up right now.”
But he doesn’t hang up. Neither does Shoto.
Touya Todoroki dies on a Thursday, and Katsuki is the one left to pick up the pieces of a shattered Shoto.
