javier asrahan, a top level gourmet chef (who also happens to work as lloyd's knight of course), finds himself participating in a cooking competition. the host, which may appear obvious, is lloyd frontera.
despite how absolutely divine javier's cooking is, lloyd is a piece of work and does anything he can to ruin it during this competition... which goes as intended. or not?
the question is... can javier (or, rather, his cooking) somehow manage to escape lloyd's wrath and win the competition? actually, a better question would be whether javier's ever really escaped from lloyd and his irritable plans.
he just hopes to god that he won't have to use sesame oil.

Kathleen's secret is out and miraculously, she isn't dead. Xaden hasn't killed her, but he isn't her biggest threat. Not anymore. Her past chases her every move and her newly-discovered signet might get her the revenge she wants, but it isn't easy. As she uncovers the truth of the past, she lies to herself about the present. She's lost, tangled, scared, and her dragon isn't exactly a big help. This is the second "book" to The Secrets We Hide from the Dark and is written in first person and present tense.
This is a fanfiction inspired by Rebecca Yarros’s novel Fourth Wing. Although it is not required, it is greatly recommended that you read Fourth Wing AND Iron Flame before reading this fanfiction. Most characters and the world are by Rebecca Yarros, but a couple of characters are created by me. There is no explicit swearing, and there are other words in place of swear words, as the characters are heavy swearers. Some things might not make sense, and others are made up and may clash with Onyx Storm. This fanfiction was written after Iron Flame came out, but Onyx Storm has yet to be published, so things might be wrong. Just as an FYI, there may be spoilers in the comments.
