Summary
It is a truth universally acknowledged by anyone with any magical inclinations - that you did not fuck with the Endless. Not that anyone has seen them in centuries, with the exception of a few, but they are Not To Be Fucked With by every possible measure. It's a known fact - no matter the creature asking - be it fae, draconic, undead, or otherwise. To court the audience of an Endless is to court something far worse.
Hob never was the wisest dragon, and he freely admitted that.

Summary
(AKA The human!Dream coffee shop AU that no one asked for.)
He almost misses the table in the back corner. Far from the front windows and veiled by a thin curtain of ivy, a single table calls to Hob from across the cafe. It's only when he approaches the corner that Hob realises that table is occupied. Small wonder he missed this detail the first time; the man seated at the table is dressed entirely in black, and he's looking down at an open book so Hob can only see a shock of black hair. Still, there's nowhere else to sit, and apparently none of the students are inclined to share a table with a man who looks like a raven in human form.
Hob clears his throat and puts on his best smile. "Excuse me, would you mind if I shared your table?"

Summary
The meeting in the pub lasts longer than either of them expect, and Dream lets slip a couple of vague facts that give Hob more information about his friend than the previous six centuries put together. He learns that he’s something of a king (which isn’t a surprise) and that he missed their appointment because he was trapped somewhere (which is). The rest is cryptic and reluctant, but when Dream implies that everyone he’d ever known had either assumed he’d abandoned them or been too busy to come help him well—
Furious doesn’t quite cover it.
AKA: What to do when your mysterious friend who might also be a god doesn’t realise they feel betrayed.
