Summary
After disappearing for months with no word to his family, a grieving Lambert shows up for Christmas at the old man's house. Geralt is wrapped up in his own concerns, absorbed by his precious new child, his on and off again love affair, and reconciling with his best friend who will no longer speak to him. Lambert confides in him about Aiden, but when Geralt refuses to assist him in his vengeance, Lambert is left full of rage and grief with no outlet. Until he makes a secret arrangement with someone else in a similar position.
What do you do when you've lost everything? You take what isn't yours.

Lambert thinks of screaming drunk Christmases, hiding under the table as the sound of fist on flesh seeped bloody through the carols on the radio. He thinks of Fresno, palm trees and heat and gas station ice cream staining Aiden’s mouth.Jaskier tilts the wine glass invitingly. His lips are red as blood, as grief.
Fuck it. Fuck everything. He has nothing left. Why shouldn't he take this?
