Sure, the emotions he felt towards Bunny were mostly negative, the other having a particularly well developed skillset finely tuned to pissing Sae off any chance he could. The way Bunny was able to get under his skin was unlike anything he’s ever seen before, the taller knowing exactly which button to press and which nerve to tug at to upset Sae at any given moment.
Even with all of that, Sae could never bring himself to truly hate Bunny. He really, really wanted to, but there was something about him that stirred emotions in Sae that he’s never felt regarding anyone else.or

Sae knows that Bunny is bad for him, from the texts and hookups and being in each other's general vicinity, leading to hooking up again and keeping whatever their relationship could be called afloat despite how much it fucks with his head. He can't find it in himself to end it, or keep it from starting back up again whenever Bunny inevitably ends up in Madrid or in Sae's text logs. It's a cycle: talk, meet up, fuck, Bunny goes AWOL, and then repeat.
One day, he thinks he'll be able to end it and find something better. Not anytime soon, though. Never anytime soon.

Something sick swirls in Sae's gut, and he cusses under his breath, knowing that he won't be going back to sleep.
It takes everything in him not to text back. It's stupid, really, the way Sae is sitting on his bed, nothing but his boxers on as he stares at the once more opened string of messages with the twist of a fucking pout on his face.
Alternatively, they both suck at feelings but figure it out, for a hopeful future for both of them. Together.

Pulling the hoodie tighter over his head, adjusting the sunglasses, even deliberately choosing Bunny’s merch for the cap; everything was a shield, a careful misdirection to unwanted prying eyes. If someone got a glimpse of the car, of the figure beside Bunny, they’d see a “mystery person,” maybe a friend, maybe a family member. But they wouldn’t see him. They wouldn’t trace it back to Sae.

Sae wanted to leave their memories to die in Spain. He’d abandoned his prospective professional soccer career after leaving Re Al’s youth team to seriously pursue an education—something that wouldn’t bring him back to the bitter memories from Madrid. It looked like someone else had the same idea.
