A frown formed on Elliot’s face, replacing his general positivity that he used to hold, the atmosphere thickening with each passing second. “After watching so many people die to these bloodsucking monsters I– I just–”
Chance placed a hand on Elliot’s sleeve, observing the rhythm of the movement and hum he made afterward. They gave him a small playful smirk, earning a small chuckle, reminding Chance of what the man had used to be. “Hey, it’s all over now, kiddo. I know seeing him in such a state was… hard, but there was nothing to be done. He had complained for weeks of visions about this… thing, but it ain’t your fault.” For once, Elliot could finally feel relieved, taking in a short breath and finally letting out a smile after everything.
