The generic looking devil man opened his mouth.
“Wow,” he said. “I’ve never smelled this much misery on a human before.”
He Xuan stared at him. An echo of indignation rose from somewhere inside him. “Go away.”
The devil pouted and lifted his boot-clad foot, lightly kicking He Xuan’s shoulder. To his surprise, he could actually feel it, the profile of his sole against his skin, the force pushing him back against the wall.
“Now, is that any way to talk to your guardian angel?” the devil said and laughed as if he’d made a particularly funny joke.
He Xuan meets a demon in a club’s bathroom. He doesn’t expect to find out the next morning that the demon is not only not a hallucination, but is there for the express purpose of watching He Xuan’s life crash and burn, and intends to stay with him in his apartment from now on.
