Livia would have laughed, just to be polite, if the manager had said it like a joke. Instead, he’d said it with all the gravity of someone announcing an incoming hurricane.
“He’ll flirt with you first,” Mark told her. “But it’s a bit. Don’t feed the bit. You flirt back, I get complaints, and then I’ll have HR breathing down my neck.”
Livia blinked. “Are we talking, like, the Nightwing?”
Mark gave her a flat look over his clipboard. “Do you think we have another one?”
In which BatBurger’s newest employee has a lot on her plate. Between school deadlines, family guilt trips, and the regular risk of getting mugged in the most crime-ridden city in the country, it’s no small wonder she hasn’t run for the hills yet.

Summary
Lucifer, offended that the Son, a Creation of God and by rights an angel, was given the title of God by no merit, decides to collect an army of rebels willing to fight for the equality and liberty in Heaven that he has aspired to his whole life. But the true betrayal has not happened yet: Abdiel, the love of Lucifer’s angelic life, refuses to see reason and join the rebels in their fight for freedom.
Both angels clash at every opportunity to try to bring the other to his side, but each rejection leaves them feeling more and more resentful that the other is more devoted to a cause than to their love.
