Shang Qinghua let out a long, shaky breath. “Right. Okay. Sure. No problem. I can work with that. That’s fine.” He shifted the baby in his arms, looking down at the tiny, squirming face, the damp lashes clinging together. “You hear that? As long as you make it to the sect, everything’s good. Easy quest conditions. No trauma required.”
Luo Binghe made a faint snuffling sound, unimpressed.
Shang Qinghua’s smile collapsed almost instantly. “Oh, gods, what am I saying?” He scrubbed a hand over his face, leaving another smear of drying blood. “I’m not qualified for this! I can barely keep myself alive half the time! You need—uh—you need a responsible, kindhearted woman from a humble background with good soup-making skills, not a chronically overworked peak lord-slash-spy!”
The baby responded by making a small, gurgling noise that sounded alarmingly like agreement.
“Don’t sass me,” Shang Qinghua muttered. “You’re, like, twelve minutes old.”

Summary
Shang Qinghua gets his drink spiked with a flower that makes him tell people exactly what he thinks of them. Which would be bad enough already but it happens in the middle of a meeting with several of his martial siblings.
Yeah, he is not going to survive this.
The only silver lining is that, at least, Mobei-jun is not here to hear what he has to say.

My take on the Shang Qinghua drinks truth serum and goes off on his martial siblings and Mobei-jun trope because I love it and our underappreciated king deserves it. (Also someone needs to tell the truth to Shen Qingqiu and we all know it's not going to be Yue Qingyuan)

Shang Qinghua felt tears come to his eyes. He’d survived too long to become some pet for the protagonist! He wasn’t going to be locked up and made into a personal blood bag of Yin energy! That was not how Shang Qinghua was going to spend the rest of his life! He refused.
As he reached the edge of the cliff, Shang Qinghua tried to feel for something over the edge he could use to pull himself up. His hand bumped into something firm and solid that he desperately grabbed onto. Shang Qinghua struggled to climb up, breaths coming out in pants from exertion. And when he looked to see what he was holding onto, he felt his insides drop.
Shang Qinghua felt his entire body trembling as he looked up into the face of the man standing before him. Ink black hair spilled down his shoulders and framed his beautifully sculpted face. He stared down at Shang Qinghua, eyes and demon mark glowing blue in the cold night.- Language:

Shang Qinghua somehow ends up with the chance to raise the protagonist from square one! Naturally, this sets off a whole chain of events that never made it into the final draft of Proud Immortal Demon Way. Now there's unexpected family drama in the Mobei Clan, a mess with Huan Hua Palace, and characters that never made it out of the rough drafts or abandoned chapters popping out. At least he got a cute baby and hey—at least he’s not going to end up a scum villain and die, right.
Right?
This is the rewrite of Proud Immortal Parent's Way I've been meaning to do; it only took me like two years. lol
