Summary
In between adventures, Spamton is left to his own devices in Castle Town. He was given a place to stay and has set up a small shop to give himself something to do. He sells spare parts and tools, but also toys that he builds from scraps on occasion. All is going swell enough until the day the TV World Darkners move in. It was inevitable, Spamton knew that. However, he can't help but wonder if one TV Darkner in particular would be there. If he had survived long enough to be recruited...reunited. Spamton must tackle whether he's ready to see him again. Ready to love him again.

Summary
In the castle town, after the heroes' adventure came to an end, Spamton now lives an ordinary life — not as an object, but as a regular Darkner. And even though he has the opportunity to live in a normal room, old habits are hard to break, so he continues to live in a dumpster, hiding from everyone. The chronic absence of a sense of safety only worsens the condition of the former Addison, who has already lost his mind. Going insane from loneliness, he creates Tenna out of trash, and he begins to believe that it is alive, developing a painfully strong attachment to this stuffed figure. The real Tenna, find out about the fate of his former business partner, catches a glimpse of how the puppet cares for a pile of junk.

Summary
Having been suddenly presented with a second opportunity to do - something, anything, Montgomery considers a series of options.
The first of which is to walk away - the reasonable, probably best-advised course of action when faced with a complete stranger, even an older, unreasonably attractive one with a very specific interest in the cutting edges of medical surgery and transplantation grafting. He may yet see him again, anyway, and making an ass of himself (a distinct possibility) is a fear that makes itself known quite vocally.
The other, more tempting option, is the same that occurred to him in the lecture hall: to approach him, make conversation, and - well, he’ll get to that when he does.
This second plan is objectively ill-advised, appallingly open-ended, and at some point will probably require alcohol on his part. And it is very much the one he goes with.
