    It still baffled him, if he was being honest. Their whole dynamic had started with Bucky yanking the steering wheel out of Sam’s hands—literally—and let’s not forget the whole “I might’ve tried to kill you a few times” thing. They’d spent so long pretending to hate each other, trading barbs and eye rolls, that the shift to this — to quiet moments on the shore, to Sam knowing when Bucky needed space or when he needed someone to pull him out of his own head — felt... strange.
