Reader who is mentioned to be an art teacher is transported to Cyber City via computer lab. They ask Queen for a place to love until they get themselves back home, and in return the Reader becomes Queen's assistant as payment. They meet Spamton on their way back home from a grocery shopping trip where they make a deal to sneak him into the Mansion.
So far, POV has been in 2nd person but the Reader's gender hasn't been specified but the pairings have it set for F/M, M/M, and Multi so I'm assuming the Reader is gender neutral for a wider audience(which makes me very happy! Thank you!!)
Spamton is mentioned to be shorter than the Reader, so some form of short Spamton is being used.

Currently just one Chapter. Spamton gets caught breaking into Readers home for a place to sleep, Reader kindly lets them after their first meeting. Will add more context as the story progresses.
Author hasn't made mention of Spamton's height, might possibly stay ambiguous on that, idk.
Reader uses gender neutral pronouns, so anyone can enjoy, my enby heart is pleased too!

One of, If not, the best Trench era Joshler fic ever. I am such a sucker for fics that take place in the Trench/Dema storyline. Especially those that people build onto like this one. The use to sign language, the way Dema and Trench works, its amazing. I thought I had this bookmarked a loooong time when I first read it but I didn't! I'm so upset with myself, but then again I am still so new to AO3 and have no idea how to navigate this site. BlueeJoseph is definitely my favorite Joshler author, especially their stories like this one that take place in Dema/Trench.

Reader is a lightner, who essentially takes a role that Noelle fills in Deltarune Chapter 2. Reader is Queen's peon, who suddenly gets an urge to leave the castle in order to have a taste of freedom. They run into Spamton, who is dead set on making a deal with them. Author does a wonderful job making Spamton both insufferable and endearing at the same time. Out of all the fanfics I've reader under Spamton x Readers, this is one of the few that expands more on Spamton's shady business practices rather than protraying him as a depressive homeless dude. It actually works really well, and even fits perfectly with his canon persona. As much as I love the fics where Reader cares and befriends Spamton, its a refreshing thing having a fic focusing more on Spamton's 'career' and his persona as a once booming salesmen turned scam artist. Truly shows just how far Spamton is willing to go for survival. He does show he still has some form of humanity, choosing to help the Reader rather than rat them out even though he'd be set for life if he chose to disregard them. Perfect balance of that irritating salesmen persona, and a desperate man wanting freedom and companionship.
Author uses Tall Spamton in this fic, so if you exclusively choose to view Spamton as a short guy, not your kind of fic. Though I have to say, I don't think I would be able to take some of the scenes in this fic seriously if they did choose to protray Spamton as short. I think for this story, he fits better as a taller person. I usually like seeing Spamton as short, but sometimes its nice seeing him at different heights. As far as I know his canon height has yet to be official.
So far Author is using they/them pronouns for the Reader, allows for wider range of Readers to enjoy. The gender pairing tag has it set to M/F, and the author mentions possible future smut, I only assume if they choose to be descriptive when that happens they'll probably choose to protray reader with a AFAB body which, depending on how you identify, will be disappointed in. I can only hope they choose to either be vague on the smut or attempt to be ambiguous when it comes to describing what's between the readers legs, but at the end of the day they did mention this fic is something of self-indulgence, it make sense if they choose to use what they identify as. Either way, I am pleased I am able to enjoy this as a Reader insert being someone who uses they/them pronouns in real life. I will never stop being grateful to authors who make Reader inserts gender neutral. I rarely get to enjoy fanfics without feeling dysphoria because Authors only write for female/ she/her readers.
EDIT: Author has modified the M/F pairing to keep the Reader exclusively gender neutral! : D -

Spamton fic, a wholesome story so far, Spamton takes the place of a supposed malware program that affects the readers computer after an attempt installation of an antivirus program. Spamton needs a place to stay, so with the permission of the reader, makes their computer his new home.

An Addison Reader is having difficulties making a name for themselves in the marketing industry. After discovering the long forgotten Spamton G. Spamton after a night of research of the once famous Big Shot, they reluctantly agree to letting the poor fellow reside at their office. Spamton pays the reader back with advice and help on getting their career to take off, all while strengthening their relationship.
The author does an amazing job depicting Spamton as authentic to his character within Deltarune. His pop-up like speech feels extremely natural to his canon self, and the writing feels smooth and enjoyable to read. Spamton is mentioned to be short, never too specified how short but we can assume he is at least a reasonable height for it to be natural(not depicted as a 1 foot gremlin) Gender neutral pronouns, excellently allows a larger range of readers to enjoy(thank you I am a they/them user!)
Highly recommend if your someone like me who has an innate urge to help and care for this poor salesmen, but also loves a fic being written with a reader who has reasonable, natural reactions to suddenly finding a weird homeless dude beg for a place to stay. Kind but natural.

Spamton fic that includes his NEO form. Reader is a lightner who took up residency in the Cyber World in hopes of making a better future for themselves. Ends up coming across Spamton(NEO) in a dumpster, who essentially just lets himself go with Reader back to their home. Author does an excellent job protraying Spamton, really capturing just how much pain and suffering the poor guy has gone through by using his pop-up, glitchy speech to its advantage as well as how he reacts with Reader and his surroundings. In fact in is so well written I had to pause a few times to look up silly Spamton art because it was painful at times to see poor Spamton hurt so much.
Luckily though, the Reader helps him through his anguish, and after a 'bout of angst, there usually follows wholesome caring afterwards. Outside of his Neo form, which is essentially depicted as a mech suit of sorts, Spamtons original form is described as short. Not entirely specified how short but he fits on a counter pretty well.
Fic makes mention of a smut scene, it does not go into detail nor does it majorly affect the plot, as its written in a way where you could easily pretend it didn't happen if you choose not to want to imagine sleeping with the salesmen(I myself chose this route, I'm glad it was written this way, as this story is far to well written and enjoyable to quit reading because of smut. Though what do you expect, they warn it in the tags)
