Summary
There's one absolute truth about Peter Benjamin Parker: he messes things up. Ned says it's not true, and MJ has told him he's stupid for believing that, but Peter has proof. Whenever he has something good going for him, it's either taken from him, or he ends up giving it up by means of his own stupidity: case in point, it's almost Christmas and he doesn't have a soul to spend it with. He's been alone for months, and it's all his fault.

Several months ago, Peter got angry at Tony, and then ran away. Now it's just days until Christmas and Peter is cold, soaking wet from the snow, and feeling completely alone in the world. He shows up to the tower to find Tony having a small Christmas gathering with friends. Peter isn't sure if he's welcome or not. Angst with a side of Christmas and family feels.

Summary
Peter tries not to stare at the black eye patch. He focuses on Fury's heartbeat instead, slow and steady, not giving anything away. Still, Peter can tell the man isn't buying that he's ignorant about who he is.
"I have a mission for you, Spider Man."
Peter's own heart rate picks up a little. Tony has always told him to be wary of SHIELD. "A mission?"
"Save Tony Stark."
Peter's heart starts to pound so hard it hurts. He grimaces, realizing that his dad hasn't been truthful with him. "He isn't away on a really long business trip, is he."
"No," Fury says, sounding displeased, "he's not."
OR
Tony is being blackmailed into living side by side with the man that nearly killed him in a cave in Siberia, and he's not doing well. Bruce is doing his best to help his friend, and Fury sends Peter in to keep Tony sane long enough to figure out who is blackmailing him so he can get him out. **Story is complete, and 2-3 chapters per week will be posted until it's all up.**

"It was perfect, one of the best fanfictions I've read in a long time. I absolutely loved it; it made me feel every emotion. When Peter came back, and I understood Peter, I genuinely felt sad. Escaping really was the only thing he could do, and then his own return just completely captivated me. Tony and Pepper's attitudes were perfect, and Peter's emotions were reflected beautifully."

May and her boyfriend kick Peter out of the car on the side of the road in another state in the middle of the night. It’s freezing cold and Peter doesn’t know where he is or how to get home. He can’t call May, Ned isn’t home, and the only other number he has belongs to Happy, who has explicitly told him not to call him unless it’s a life or death emergency. And hypothermia isn’t an emergency, is it? Is it??

Peter calls Happy, he yells at Peter for calling so late at night, and Peter breaks down. Happy and Tony feel guilty for not looking closer in the two months since Germany and realizing that Peter needed help. Minor fluff at the end with a hopeful ending.
