"Well, obviously werewolves don't exist," Rumi laughed, shaking her head at her friend's strangeness. She tried to make it genuine, but she had never been any good at lying. "They are myths, right? And the occasional B-Movie monster?"
"Rumi, love, shut up." Mira's hands had moved with purpose, pulling her hair behind her head and into a severe ponytail, but now they hesitated, running over Rumi's shoulders, almost like she was worried. "You know you can talk to us, right?"
"I know I can, but--"
"We saw you," Zoey blurted, face immediately flushing red at the admission. "We saw you shift back. You were a wolf, then you were a girl. Um, a woman."
"A very naked woman, I might add," Mira added dryly.
"Oh."

Summary
A world where everyone is a woman of varying permutations and where sex is normalized and mundane. Public nudity and sex are commonplace, taboos don't exist, and consent is universal. Everyone is an adult and no children are present.
In this world, after a brief bonding period (one to two years), people are sent to boarding schools until they reach 18 years of age. Then, after a month-long 'special education' class, they are sent home. Parents and siblings are free to visit the school, but the students are not allowed to leave until they graduate. After that, they're enrolled in a high school for four more years, then they either join the workforce, pursue their passions, or go to university. Basically, everything gets shifted up by about four years or so, so don't be surprised to see 21-year-old high school seniors.
The story loosely follows Holly, a high school senior; her mother, Nicole; and her best friend, Veronica. The story will branch at times and chapters are not necessarily sequential or related to the previous chapter, except that they take place in the same world.

Finally, Zoey blurted it out, voice soft but sharp:
“Have you ever thought of… something besides monogamy?”
Mira’s thumb stilled on the screen. She looked up, slow. “…What?”
Zoey’s hands twisted in her lap. “Like—not open relationships. Just… not just one person. Have you ever thought about being with more than one person and it still being okay?”
She wasn’t looking at Mira. Her voice was tight, like it hurt to speak. Mira watched her with a furrowed brow, still quiet.
“I feel so guilty all the time. Because I love you, Mira. I love you, and this doesn’t change that, but I see her and I want to make her smile and I want her to hold my hand and I think she’s beautiful and weird and sweet and I—”
She finally looked up, tears shining in her eyes.
“I think I ruined us. And I’m so sorry.”
Mira just stared at her. Wide-eyed. Silent.
Zoey’s heart dropped. “Say something.”
Mira exhaled like she’d been holding her breath for a month.
Then she visibly deflated—shoulders dropping, head tilting back against the wall—and let out a quiet, choked laugh.
“…Oh thank god.”
