Summary
Nobody's ok after what happened at the Pillar and Sun Wukong is no exception.
Plagued by nightmares and, worse, the crippling-and, at least if he was asked-justified-feeling of guilt, he's barely sleeping and things only get worse when not only does he learn that MK has nightmares too, but Pigsy and Tang ask him to give the kid space because it may help him.
However, one night, in between two nightmares, he gets a call from pigsy-MK is coming up to FFM to talk and now the mentor and the student have to discuss one of the worst moments of both of their lives.

Summary
Red Son tries his best to isolate himself and work towards things he thinks will make people proud of him. Mei is not having any of this though and takes him into town where he is forced to stay with Macaque. She also forces him hang out with her and MK. It doesn't take long for Macaque to start prodding at the weak parts of his facade and get him to question exactly who he's tying to prove himself to.

Summary
Months after fixing the Pillar, and having (mostly) convinced his friends that he’s fine now, really, all MK wants is for things to go back to the way they were BEFORE all the mess with Azure and the stones. He put in the work, shouldn’t he be allowed to have a normal life again? But saving the world and fixing it are two very different things, and as long-hidden secrets and old grudges return to haunt his mentor, MK will find that being the Monkey Kid comes at a steeper cost than he could have ever imagined. His friends are at odds, his own powers are betraying him, and an ancient power struggle threatens to put him in the middle of all out war between the realms.
He’s been told time and time again that there’s always another way… but this time, he may have no choice but to retrace Sun Wukong’s footsteps, and face all the pain and heartbreak that came with them.
