It was absolutely unremarkable. Some girl talking to herself as she explored a building that she was clearly bored of. Nothing special.
Jax… knew that voice, though. It made all of the difference. He wanted her to say something else-- he needed her to say something else. He could hear his heartbeat in his ears. In the back of his mind, he could hear a jester-looking girl laughing at something stupid he said.
(Or: After escaping the circus, Jax finds himself back in the unchanged real world. Unfortunately, the relationships he'd made-- and didn't make-- in the Circus continued to nag at him.)

“One,” Choromatsu began with a stern voice, ripping his hand back once more, “Stop trying to direct me to go with you. Two, I’m not begging for a single damn thing. And three,” Choromatsu stood closer to Osomatsu now, face in his brother’s, but couldn’t find it in him to lower his voice - a part of him wanted everyone else to hear. “Maybe I’d rather be fucked by a stranger than be fucked by you!”
Of course it caught the attention of the bar - a few sections going quiet as people looked over. Choromatsu could feel his face heating, knowing that was a bad idea in the end, but feeling a sick amount of enjoyment at the shocked face that looked back at him. Good. Osomatsu could stand to be knocked down a few pegs from time to time. Serves him right for doing this in the first place.
