The first thing he noticed was that John, in the corner in front of his dresser and mirror was hunched in an odd way. He had too many angles and seemed to be spilling out of his sweater. It couldn’t be comfortable, the way John held his head, so that not even a hint of it could be seen. There was a soft hissing that filled the room, it seems to come from John’s direction but that made no sense, he didn’t have any alarms or text tones that sounded anything like it, Sherlock had memorized them all.

Then coltsfoot and ivy on his tables, counters and even the few chairs that Mycroft had somehow snuck in before Sherlock moved in. Summary
When Jim Kirk moved back home to Iowa and took the ED nurse job recommended by his friend McCoy, he was expecting it to be a calm change of pace from his old urban hospital. Instead, it's the same shit, just with crappier equipment and a smaller staff. His fellow nurses are great, thankfully, and the lab tech on the other end of the phone has a particularly nice voice.
Spock, former Chemistry technical specialist and perpetual night shift lead, prefers to focus on his work without interruption. Constantly calling critical results to the floor is inconvenient, especially when the new ED charge nurse has such a pleasant laugh.
Hospital AU, featuring flirting over the Vocera, needlessly detailed medical jargon, and a disgusting amount of love paid to the lab staff.
