“Hey-!” He squawked, but it was half hearted at best with the lingering ache from his wrist and the sudden rush in momentum as Cole trudded forward, he dug his feet onto the floor to no avail, stupid ghost house. Cole reached the scroll with a self-satisfied huff, though he couldn’t hide the telltale slack of relief in his features. Jay probably looked the same.
“C’mon we gotta get out of here.” He said, attempting and failing to pull Cole’s weight in the direction of the door, he was trying his best to keep the panicked edge inside him put, they have the scroll, they have the scroll.
“Already ahead of ‘ya.”

Nico has never been a talkative person. It was easy to mistake him for being one, with his rantings about card games and stat points and his favorite greek gods, his sheepish shrugs and casual smiles when he caught himself rambling.
But then you’d notice that it was only when his sister, Bianca, was around.
He was skittish, silent as a shadow, often huddling in the corner of whatever space provided. (Apollo’s chariot for one, he sat at the back, an arm rubbing the other, quietly watching everyone laugh and argue. And, for the brief time he was welcomed in camp half-blood was spent tucked away in the Hermes cabin, counting his cards and fiddling with his figurines alone.)
In the end, even after her death- especially after her death- Nico could never pinpoint what exactly made him feel so excitable and, well, reckless around his sister.

Summary
Both the tales of MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica are stories about wanting to become human. Over the course of the series, the characters humanize and dehumanize one another in their attempts to feel human. The members of MyGO!!!!! find solace and happiness in each other, fighting to become human regardless of how lost they come to feel. The members of Ave Mujica, on the other hand, distance themselves from their humanity so that they are the ones choosing their dehumanization rather than leaving it in the hands of others. Despite their opposite approaches, the bands follow the same steps to reach their humanity or lack thereof: the unmasking of their true selves, the recognition of their flaws, and the acceptance of each other and themselves as human or the exact opposite.
(A literary analysis essay breaking down the definition of humanity in MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica, how each character reaches it, and what this says about the bands and their solutions to pain.)
