Vegas is adept at moulding himself to fit the needs of any given situation.
His success hinges on this ability, to pick and choose the face he wears, to hold his tongue right up until the moment it’s necessary to let it wag, to use his physical body as a shroud for all that lies beneath. Vegas can just as easily capture the attention of an entire ballroom as skirt beneath their notice.
Everyone in their family knows this.
Kinn knows this, hence why he always comes to Vegas when he needs a particular type of work completed.

Summary
After coming back from two weeks at his grandmother’s house, the apartment in Bangkok feels to Pete like an alien planet.
Everything is exactly how they left it, and nothing is the same.
Vegas is… weirdly calm and collected. Relaxed, almost. Pete could see the strain he was under when they were in the countryside, how Vegas was stubbornly pushing down any and all discomfort, to appear the dutiful… friend? Boyfriend? Colleague? None of those fit. In the back of Pete’s mind the words “son in law” are lurking, but he’s refusing to pay them any attention.

When a client refuses to sign a contract without hearing from Vegas that he can trust Porsche as the new leader of the Theerapanyakun Minor Family, Kinn and Porsche are forced to go and ask Vegas and Pete for help. Even though Kinn believes that Pete is unhappy where he is, and that Vegas is doing nothing but manipulating him like he's done everyone else.
Except when they get to the meeting, things go south, Pete gets hurt, and everyone around them realise that Vegas hasn't been faking a damn thing.
