Xu Nuo-er loved his mother, really, he did. He was his mother's perfect child, a proper filial omega... Only, he wasn't.
See, Nuo-er was particularly adept in the art of knowing unsaid things, even as a 9 year old boy. Which is how he knew that his mother was dying and she was going to send him away before she croaked.

So, no, he wasn't surprised when the kind nurse broke the news to him gently. Nor was he surprised when the Jugendamt officers came to take custody of him. No, what really surprised Nuo-er was when the Guardianship Court transferred custody to his BROTHERS! Brothers he had never known existed?!!
