Summary
On Saturdays, Irene takes a break from her demanding job to volunteer at a local animal-shelter-cum-veterinary-clinic. One day, while she’s helping out with investigating a disappearance of veterinary supplies, a dog at the shelter catches and badly injures a wild crow. Irene manages to save (most of) the crow, but it disappears shortly thereafter, and she soon finds herself the target of unpleasant attention from the crow community at large … and from a particularly obnoxious gremlin with a feather-shaped scar on his face who’s started volunteering alongside her.

Horikashi AU—as a result there’s more sweetness and less slapstick, though they still develop their unusually close relationship without naming it. The end where Kashima is being super dense about Hori liking someone just like her is really cute.
