Rion nasceu no Distrito da Luz Vermelha e tem uma irmã mais velha chamada Anzu, ela é meia irmã de Shino e foi reconhecida e adotada pelo seu pai, Shibi Aburame. Acontece que Rion se tornou uma Genin e posteriormente uma trabalhadora da TI (Tortura e Interrogatório) para que pudesse dar uma vida digna a sua irmã mais velha a qual ela se sente responsável. Ao mesmo tempo que seu pai introvertido tenta se aproximar e fazer com que ela seja integrada a família. Por outro lado uma trama vem se desenrolando, Danzo e sua Raiz, assim como Orochimaru nutrem um estranho interesse por ela. Rion esta tentando discretamente usar seu conhecimento futuro para fazer o que é possível para manter seus entes queridos seguros.
