After Bowser and Bowser Jr. were imprisoned, the two managed to escape. Weeks after their prison break, Luigi wakes up to find Toad Town on fire and he the only one left to defend it, and confronts the Koopa he once believed was his friend.
He finds a hurt Bowser filled with anger, but Luigi is hurt too and can't understand why Bowser is doing what he is doing. Meanwhile Bowser only wants to protect his family. The two need to work things out before Bowser goes too far and hurts the person he is beginning to think he may love even more.
