Izuku Midoriya wanted to find whoever invented the phrase “You only live once” and strangle them.
He hoped it would work this time.
Green eyes looked down at pale, shaky hands, and watched the way the glow of sunlight glanced off of withered skin. The view was identical to the one he had seen thousands of times before.
It had to work this time.
The hero took his final breath, shaking as the air came in tiny bursts, never enough to satisfy the way his body craved oxygen.
Izuku Midoriya died, knowing it wouldn’t.
