Summary
Darren wanted nothing more than to clean up his act and mental health, go to college, and live a normal, semi-successful life within late-stage capitalism.
But everything in the universe seemed personally hell bent on torturing him personally.
His first year of college he loses his apartment to shitty conniving roommates who hate him, his nervous system is an absolute fucking mess, his parents are anxious freaks who seem ready to make him come home at any inconvenience, and all of his "friends" have left him without a back up plan he can lean on.
So here he is. At the front door of a girl who used to torture him incessantly when they were younger, bullied him constantly, and whom, despite it all, he had forged an unwilling attraction to because he is no better than the worst masochists who lined the sacred texts of martyrdom and sainthood. A beautiful girl who is taller, more composed, and way way fucking cooler than he could ever hope to be, and who knew him when he was still wearing glasses and getting shoved inside of lockers.
