Summary
The Sage of Truth knew the Truthless Recluse had realized immediately that something was off about him today.
As much as the other loved to deny it, over the years of the Sage’s many pestering visits, a bond that ran deeper than mere soul jams had formed between the two friends. The Sage could tell from the barest twitch of lips when the Recluse was pleased, a tiny grimace of the face when he was annoyed.
Unfortunately, this knife cut both ways.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————-
Or, Sage faints. Recluse takes care of him.

Summary
The water lapped around him, rising and falling with every small shift. The warmth seeped into him, loosening the cold locked deep in his bones. It felt strange, disarming—like a language he’d never heard spoken before but somehow understood.
It felt… nice.
So nice it scared him.
His mind, usually sharp with worry and memories and the constant expectation of danger, softened under the steady rhythm of their care. Thoughts that normally clawed at him like thorns dulled into a quiet hum, fading under the heat of the water and the smell of the soap.
He leaned into the sensation before he could stop himself, eyelids fluttering. His breathing steadied. His shoulders lowered. For once, his body did not prepare to run.
And for the first time in a very long while, he let himself simply exist.
(Or Shadow Milk’s family are terrible, and Willy and Nilly try their best to help him.)
