Steve makes an impatient gesture with his free hand. “Yeah, whatever. C’mon. Just try me again.”
“Alright. Kelly McGillis, or..” She looks up as the door chimes. She’s greeted with none other than Billy Hargrove and Eddie Munson walking in, side-by-side. She feels her grin grow. “Or.. hm. Jason Patric.”
(Or: six times Robin suspects something about Steve, and the one time she suspects something about Billy.)

Summary
It broke through in the spring of 1987.
It's been eight years since the invasion, eight years since the Mind Flayer ripped apart the world they knew and made every day a battle for survival. No one knows that better than Steve Harrington, one of the leaders of the last humans alive - and the only reason they've all made it this far. When the survivors need to send someone into the Upside Down to retrieve essential supplies, there's no one better suited for the job than Steve. All he needs to do is get in and out, avoiding demodogs where he can and killing them when he can't.
He's not expecting to find anyone else alive in there. After all, no one has ventured into the Upside Down since Billy Hargrove sacrificed his life to close the gate ten years ago...

"I could go home, and you could stick to eating Thumper instead of the locals?”
“Nah, Harrington.” Billy's tongue clicks against his teeth, disappointed. “You never make a bargain before? You want something, you have to give me something in return.” His hand reaches out, still laden in heavy silver rings, just missing all the jewels of a proper, courtly king. He drags at Steve’s lower lip with his thumb in a move that feels condescending, but Steve can’t bring himself to pull away.
“I don’t understand.”
“If you want to make a deal, you need to give me something I want.” He says it slow, voice gravel and smoke. “And I only want one thing you could give me. Your devotion.”
Or, Steve goes into the Upside Down looking for a monster. He's not expecting the one he finds.
