Before he’d found this place after a particularly ugly day out in the desert, it was always difficult. The whores would try to jockey for position, a position forever closed. So, he’s always come back to this detestable hovel. No tedious explanations or women who want to seduce Lord Ren. They’re too beaten down to try.
“Look at me,” he growls. She shudders and for one yawning chasm of a moment, he thinks she’ll refuse him. He should want to reprimand her, but instead his whole being pleads for her to look at him. Please just look at him.
Then her head swivels, and there they are, those fathomless eyes, steely and full of repugnance. But under that, he sees … Oh how he sees the girl she could have been, pleading and vulnerable. The tumultuous turn of green and gold and brown, they do something to him, something new. Something terrifying.

Rey travels back to when Ben is 19 and training with Luke.
This, this is what, who he’s been waiting for. Which is especially odd since he wants to be a Jedi Master, and Luke has never been seen with anyone. Is it even allowed? He’d never thought it would matter much to him.
But now, now it godsdamned matters, because he’s in love. At least he thinks he is. He’s 19 and he’s never felt like this before, so it’s hard to tell. And he’s not going to ask anyone. He has a hard enough time hiding her from the voices as it is.
Because that’s one thing he does know. Rey isn’t to be shared.

Her startled eyes go wide and fill with confusion.
“Is it FN-2187’s?” he growls.
She looks at him like he’s speaking Huttese.
“Tell me!” Kylo bellows.
He can barely hear her when she stutters out, “Y-yours.”

Kylo watches her beautiful hazel eyes go wide with shock as his saber plunges into her chest. He’s instantly horrified by what he’s done and immediately retracts the blade, dropping the hilt as he catches her falling form. She’s blinking quickly and he knows she doesn’t have long.
“No, no!” After Starkiller, after his father he’d hoped to prove to Snoke that this feeling brewing in him was nothing. He had wanted to show that he was not tempted by the scavenger and her brilliant light. But as he holds her in his arms and feels the life leaving her he knows he has been so very wrong. This woman, this impossible woman, she is everything to him and he has killed her.

He’s brushing her hair. He loves the feeling of the soft strands of her chestnut tresses as he works, gently untangling each snag until it lays like a sheet of gleaming silk. He keeps it down, always. He misses looking into her eyes, but being able to be close to her like this makes it almost bearable. At least that’s what he tells himself.
He misses her fire, her fight. He misses her voice. He misses how she would turn every interaction into a struggle for dominance. He misses how she would win. He misses when her eyes would betray her, and he knew she didn’t hate him. He misses her.
Though he treasures having her with him, Kylo Ren would do anything to change how this had happened, how she had come to be his. His; silent, still, beautiful, perfect Rey.
