Jeongguk is fairly sure he’ll make whatever promise Taehyung wants him to make.
“Whatever you want, Taehyung-ssi.”
“Now you’re playing with fire,” the man says, a hint of something serious to his words. “Promise me you won’t start minding your manners now.”
“I can assure you that I won’t.”
“Good,” Taehyung mumbles, then he unhooks the strap, letting it fall to the side before he undoes the other side, freeing his face from the constraints of his surgical mask.
When it finally does register, Jeongguk feels his mouth fall open. Jeongguk doesn’t like breaking promises, but he’s about to do just that.
“Oh, fuck me.”

Because when Taehyung starts singing again, Jeongguk knows that the warmth is still there. Somewhere in his chest. Where Taehyung so carefully planted it as if Jeongguk was made of glass. As if he was a greenhouse of his own and Taehyung was the sun he needed so the warmth inside of him could one day bloom.
or:When the sun returns into Jeongguk’s life in the form of Taehyung and starts singing to the withered plants in his garden, Jeongguk would have never thought that along the way he himself would start blooming too.
