"I know I said I wouldn't say that again," Vi mutters out from behind her thin muffler, "but you're sure we're not too old for this?"
Caitlyn shrugs. Her scarf flutters in the desert wind. "You said I'd go stir crazy sitting around at home."
"Or that you'd go back to work," Vi says, "which is even worse, because you're not supposed to be working anymore." She adjusts the bindings on her own feet. She squints out into the distance. "So I guess this is why we're trying to ski down a sand dune in Shurima. At least the sand will be soft when we trip over our feet."
Cait and Vi retire.

Summary
Sharpsight does not hesitate to approach, her mind banging every which way with almost painful curiosity. Every step sends more prickles through her pelt, as a shape takes form behind the teeth the closer she gets.
Squinting, she makes out the outline of- a cat, fur sticking every which way, head turned away from the exit of its nest. In a sharp motion, it strikes a paw against the wall of its nest, and it rattles, but otherwise stays still.
Then, in the dark, an eye gleams back at her- Sharpsight’s breath catches in her throat, but she holds her ground as sharp, yellowed teeth bare in a quiet snarl.
“Who are you?”
An unlikely alliance of convenience is forged between an idealistic Clan cat and a vengeful and hurt ex-hoarding house cat. They will both learn of what awaits them in Twolegplace- what Sharpsight was never allowed to see over the bridge... and what Red has missed over the last four years.
(Or: yes, it's a Warrior Cats AU.)

Summary
“It’s perfect,” Vi snickers, eyes trained on the swaying, bright cupcake sign above the doorway to Sweet Delights. “Found it trying to make a shortcut back home a few days ago. I can’t believe you Pilties have got a whole place just for cupcakes.”
“That’s always been there,” Caitlyn deadpans, trying not to flush under the realisation of how frivolous it is.
“And you didn’t tell me?”
“Precisely because I knew you’d be insufferable about it.”
Vi’s grin sharpens. “Scared I might get my fill of cupcake elsewhere?”
Caitlyn and Vi have a sweet little lunchbreak date.

Summary
When her father told her they were to have a guest stay in their home for the whole summer– a princess– Vi nearly gagged on the spot. He had simply laughed, rubbed the top of her head, and explained the importance of this union for the kingdom. Whatever that meant.
I bet she doesn’t wrestle or hunt or box, either, Vi thinks ruefully. (She would find many years later, begrudgingly, that this is not true).
Their parents seem to see their exchange far differently. Their eyes crinkle at the corners and their snickers are hardly subtle. And both of them seem to enjoy this torture, wanting to elongate it until they’ve reached their limits.
This is going to be the longest summer of Vi’s entire life.OR:
Vi and Caitlyn are brought together every summer since they were 9 in hopes that they will eventually unite their previously warring kingdoms.- Language:

Summary
“This was your idea,” Caitlyn hums lowly, “Surely you can tell me what you’d like me to do.”
She sure could. But Vi had really, really hoped she could get out of saying it outright. “I think you know exactly what you want to do.”
“Not me,” Caitlyn squeezes her thigh gently, looks at her with a gaze that is full of all the heat in this room, sucked in with one slow, fluttery blink. “It’s all for you, darling.”
Vi scoffs- wheezes, more like. “And you’re getting nothing out of this?”
Caitlyn reddens. It always starts near her nose to wrap around her cheeks, ending at her ears in a trackable gradient. It’s a point for Vi in what has so far been a very unbalanced game.
“Don’t deflect,” Caitlyn deflects, squeezing her harder, the leather gloves pinching into the fat of her thighs, “I’m rather curious to hear what you wanted me to do with these.”
The shooting gloves stay on.
