Summary
Eponine picks up R's abandoned brush and debates adding a curly, comical ‘stache to the angelic figure. “What,” she mutters to the painting, “is so completely and magnetically irresistible about you?” That’s ironic. She supposes to everyone else there’s nothing glorious about Marius, either.
From behind her, there is a gasp.
Unimpressed, she turns to look at the source. Courfeyrac is standing, one hand over his mouth for the most dramatic of effect.
“Eponine,” Courfyerac whispers, all muffled, looking between her and the painting.
“…yeah?”
“Nothing!” Courfeyrac says, nodding, which seems contradictory. Then again, it’s one of the leaders of the Amis—they’re all fucking weirdos. “Nothing, nothing, I’ll just—wait back in the living room,” he grins.
Whatever, Eponine thinks, rolling her eyes, and goes back to Gavroche without a thought.
