Summary
When a particular high elf heads to Skyrim in order to avoid responsibilities, he finds he isn’t the only one doing so. In which, Rumarin gets picked up by a redguard mercenary who may or may not be involved with thieves and dragons and things way over his head. He's counting on making some coin, maybe paying off some debts, and avoiding the Thalmor. What he isn't counting on is… everything else, and playing Withershins.
In other words, the story of how Akhara and Rumarin met and teased the hell out of one another until they just had to kiss. Loosely based on what happened in-game as I played Skyrim for the thousandth time and fell madly in love with my own dragonborn.

There, standing off to the side and watching the Wardens work, is a man. He wears simple clothes, and the thick leather apron and gloves of a blacksmith. There’s a heavy hammer still held in one hand. And he’s coated in darkspawn blood.

Hans never liked sharing. It just didn’t come naturally to him. Ownership did, and dominion, and defending what was his, by blade and blood. As lords were meant to do. He didn’t like asking for help, either. Or asking for anything. Demanding, maybe. But not asking. Certainly not pleading. So when he’d found himself doing both — asking, and sharing — it forced him to consider just how strange a shape he’d contorted himself into.
Hans asks Black Bartosch for a lesson. Bartosch is a patient, hands-on teacher.
