Summary
The contentious third scion of Alberia, Princess Chelle, arrives in the ruined city of Raywall to carry out her father’s orders: to stamp out a war with the bordering nation of Grams before it can start, and to marry Raywall’s intelligent and softhearted marquis.
Standing in the ashes of a city ruined by her grandfather, Chelle faces both a hostile general and an embittered court united in its desire to drive her out. Determined nonetheless to fulfill her father’s wishes, she joins hands with her new fiancé, Elua. However, what she desires most is to leave behind a troubled and bittersweet past.
As the flames of resentment scorch Raywall, she finds herself embroiled in scandal and peril beyond her expectations. Yet despite the city’s dangers, what might prove most fatal to Chelle is her own self.
