Summary
In this moment, all of Glimmer’s erratic behavior made sense. There was only one thing- one specific group of Darkners- that could ever cause zir such a profound level of unhappiness, which both of them had believed to be long gone.
Even the suggestion of their presence made Swatch feel their colors turning ice cold, but they needed to know the truth. Their breath halted for a moment from some combination of concern, fear, and sympathy for their partner.
“Your old bandmates have come to Castle Town?”
Glimmer nodded.
When a group of unkind Darkners from Glimmer's past appear in Castle Town, Swatch does everything in their power to help their partner cope with this sudden arrival.

Summary
Swatch pulled their tie into place and began to speak, “As you well know, it is part of my purpose to serve royalty. Despite how odd it sounds, I’ve missed tending some of Queen’s more… let’s call them eccentric whims now that I’m no longer in her employ.”
This turn in the conversation didn’t make sense to Ralsei. The non sequitur alarmed him, and he could only assume that they would soon segue into talking about how immature he was acting in comparison to Queen. A moment passed in silence as Ralsei braced himself for scrutiny.
He was instead met with a gentle wing placed upon his shoulder.
“What I’m asking you is this: do you have any requests or favors to ask of me?”
While still reeling from the events in the Dark Sanctuaries, Ralsei receives a generous offer from Swatch.

Now that Capochin’s generosity was provided solely out of kindness and not an all-consuming, fervent obligation to her, Hector struggled to understand it at times. She laced her fingers together, and he could tell she was only seconds away from muttering something about how he shouldn’t feel forced to do anything for his former boss, god, closest friend, lone confidant, and whatever else she’d been to him for over half of their lives.
Before she could talk herself out of his offer, Capochin patted her shoulder and declared, “Let’s call it my way of paying you back for something sweet you did for me a long time ago.”

"Capochin took a deep breath, attempting in vain to let the depths of peace Vibiano’s acceptance of him had generated take hold in his mind. Try as he might, refocusing himself on the woods around him felt impossible with how rapidly new thoughts raced through his mind. The whole exchange they’d had minutes ago by now still felt so surreal.
He had finally found someone kind, caring, and unreasonably patient with all of his baggage. Between the two of them, Capochin thought he should be the one whose excitement almost swept him off his feet. This success coupled with the small hole he was slowly carving out for himself in the town of Hobbyhoo would have been enough to make anyone feel happy. So why, he wondered, did he still feel such a tightness in his chest?"
In which Capochin finally starts to get what he wants, and wonders why he can't just be happy about it.
The title is from a line in "Thank Goodness" from Wicked.

"“I just don’t wanna to see you getting hurt, bo- Hector.” Alexei mentally congratulated himself for not calling her ‘boss’ again. Meanwhile, Hector put a hand on his shoulder and gave it a light squeeze.
“Yer a sweet little guy, Alexei,” she said with a grin. Despite the whisps of gray hair throughout her scalp and the handful of wrinkles now etched into her skin, Hector’s eyes were clear and full of pride for her former employee.
After releasing her grip on him, she winked and added, “Don’t stop looking out for people- it’ll do you good in the long run.”"

"He leaned over the back of the couch- arms folded under his head- and let a soft smile grow as he spoke, “Think of it like we’re both taking a sick day together. I’ll just stay for dinner, and then tomorrow you can do all that boring stuff without me. Does that sound good to you?”
The pair were quiet while Capochin considered his options. Something about having Vibiano’s face so close to his made him take a bit longer than usual to start thinking clearly. He figured it must be the weird, fancy cologne Vibiano always wore that was clouding up his judgement.
Eventually, he flashed a toothy grin and made his choice, “…Alright, sure. ‘S probably a good idea for me to have some company right now anyway. So, what’re we having? I’m up for anything but burgers and fries.”"
After his romantic confession gets deferred, Vibiano ends up spending an evening with Capochin.

"...Ban stared at the expanse of clouds stretched out before him. His tail swished absentmindedly behind him as he took in the sprawling view above. Though he wanted to keep his mind on the present, he couldn’t help but daydream about how impactful this sky would be as an opening shot in his next short film.
He tried to refocus on the present by opening his iced tea, but he was immediately distracted by Vib making a noise of disgust that he could only describe as unnecessarily loud. When he turned to see what caused such a response, Vib pointed to the block of cheese that was still sitting in the picnic basket.
“Can you believe that Inspekta thinks that sharp cheddar pairs with red grapes and wheat crackers?!”"
In which Vib and Ban get assigned to the same mission for an afternoon and try to understand each other better.
