Jesper and Nina find themselves trapped away from the rest of the crows, in a Grisha cell. The two had thought all hope was lost until Jesper makes a discovery about his powers. Then they must figure out how to break out of the Ice Court (...again) and make their way back to the rest of their friends, but not without visiting some old ones first.
