“I tried.” Eddie huffs. “She said, verbatim, ‘I’m not your gay Yoda.’”
With that, the fitting room stall’s lock finally clicks open, the door swinging open with a muted groan. Eddie steps out, arms spread wide. “Alright. What do we think?”
From an objective standpoint, he looks good. He looks really good. Objectively speaking.
From a subjective standpoint, he looks like someone Buck wants to pin against the nearest surface and fuck until they’re both stupid.
“Handsome, you are,” Buck croaks.

Summary
Steve's two closest friends are an anxiety ridden lesbian and a chaotic metalhead that people whisper about on the streets. Steve often got funny looks when he was out with his little trio, thinking "what the hell is he doing with those two". The thing is, Robin and Eddie are the only people that really got it. They had all been through hell together. Him and Robin twice now. Steve couldn't imagine leaving them, even if a few years ago he'd laugh at anyone that would say this was his life now. Each of them were lonely, and they each filled that void in different ways.
After going to see Labyrinth, Steve learns more about Eddie, something he didn't expect. Through new experiences and time spent together, they find their shared loneliness can be solved by one another. New bonds are formed, relationships strengthen and secrets begin. Through this and with Eddie's help, Steve finds the part of him he'd been hiding away for so long.

See, Steve didn’t mind much at all. Eddie wasn’t necessarily the type that he went for normally… and not because he’s a man. But he did have beautiful brown curls and big brown eyes… “Fuck.” He whispers.Maybe he did have a type. The fact of the matter is Steve has rules. He has lists... an then he has rules. His hospital relationship ruleset went as:
1. Don’t fuck your patients.
2.Pain causes weird shit. Confusion, boners, sometimes even what they thought was love. All which Eddie was displaying signs of.
3. Patient relationships don’t last. Eddie was a rockstar, so many big shots walked through those doors promising to get them shit if they could pull the magic healing go-go juice on them. Like all it would take was a tap and a magic spell. The fact was Eddie Munson was very attractive, and sweet, and if he’s actually serious and not just a compulsory flirter, he might fuck Steve. But at the end of the day this was no fairy tale, he’s going to pick up and leave. Go on the rest of his tour. Get back to his life.

“Goddamn,” Eddie kind of shouts, but kind of growls; he’s not entirely in control of the way his voice is shaping words. “You little twits talked about him like a minor god when I first met you, and then here you are, all,” he gestures wildly at the gathered…all of them before he asks maybe the question with the actual point:
“Do you even know whether you love him or you hate him?”
In their defense, after they stop being stunned-silent, they start looking fucking angry. Dustin looks downright appalled.
“What?”

Or: Steve Harrington isn’t just the best thing to happen to Eddie Munson. He’s kinda the best fucking thing, period. And the fact that he doesn’t seem to realize it, himself? Is a fucking tragedy.
So, yeah: Eddie sure as hell does make it his single-minded mission to ensure everyone around them makes a point to stop talking shit and let Steve know what he means; how much he is loved.
Because all of Eddie’s own—perfectly valid—biases about his absolute revelation of a boyfriend aside: it’s literally the least these dipshits can do.

Summary
Three shots ring out.
Steve hears them before he feels them; a warm, wet pain burning in his torso, intolerably excruciating.
There’s a bundle of squawks and screams, outbursts of panic and anger, and it’s only when Hopper falls forwards to take Steve up into a slightly rough, protective hold, does he realize that two of those shots have lodged themselves in his own flesh and bone. (Realizes that he’d moved, instinctively, to shield El, despite never having spoken to her, who’d the gun had been so precisely pointed at, aimed for.)
Steve Harrington watches his own blood pool and trickle over a series of hands pressed against him, small and large, soft and rugged, and for a moment, wants to stay like this. He can’t.
