Henry hates to admit it, but it has never been a problem, or something he's ever had to think about. Not until he moves countries and is left to fend for himself. Henry considers himself to be a tidy person, and he likes to keep things neat. But as he discovers rather quickly, that's easier said than done when you don't have people picking up after you.

Summary
So he reaches and searches for the prior conversation where he was told about his memory loss and the man beside him. He checks the nooks and crannies of his mind, desperately hoping that it hasn’t failed him. That the effort he’s put into maintaining his intelligence over the years has been worth it because this time, he can be better.
But, he finds nothing.
It’s empty. Blank. Scattered and useless.
Alex looks down at his lap, at his legs hidden by starchy white bed sheets. “I don’t understand,” he whispers, tearfully. “I don’t remember. Why can’t I remember?”

Summary
Alex has had an absolutely shitty day at work. Every email, phone call and interaction with difficult coworkers has just added to the stress. And then, Hunter screwed up on an important case and Alex had to fix the entire mess.
So when he flops down on his seat in the train, all he wants to do is sit in silence and decompress. Maybe stare out the window disassociating, while he thinks about the leftovers he has waiting for him in his fridge. His stomach rumbles with hunger because he also doesn’t remember eating anything after lunch, except a stale cookie and cold coffee.
But then, he sees the dog.
It's a beagle and it's standing in the aisle beside the seat just in front of Alex, all floppy ears and puppy dog eyes, and he might just fall in love at first sight.
OR A meet cute, a missed connection and a matchmaking dog.
