“It’s like I’ve convinced your brain it’s on acid. That’s all.” The shrubbery seemed pleased with itself, and Erik brought a hand up to steady his head. He suddenly became aware that the heaviness he had attributed to the disorienting events of the week before was in fact growing and spinning, and making his skin distantly tingly. He groaned.
Erik had dealt with a drunk Charles before, but not one with the same base of telepathic strength to pull a stunt like this. Nor had he seen, or rather, felt a Charles so desperate to reach inside of his head in a long, long time. Maybe he had been wrong about where they last left off.
The grass swelled, and giddily reached up to shake him. “Have you ever done acid, Erik? HA!”
