Summary
The music changes. On the next spin, Lucifer catches Angel Dust and Husker smirking their way, beginning a dance of their own right by the piano. Charlie's eyes are on her friends and she's smiling bright. Husker starts to mouth something, but Lucifer doesn't catch it as they complete their spin, and again he turns to Alastor.
The man is looking over Lucifer's should, scowling deeply. And that foot is still in Lucifer's mouth, apparently, because he starts again.
"I mean, I mean I totally actually would, you know. Kiss you. But you have boundaries- and I respect your boundaries. All of them- not that you have a lot, there just very firm-" please, look at me- "their easy- you're easy- I mean- not like that. Literally at all. Which is fine-"

Sunny has the perfect life.
In her late 20s, she lives with her family- her parents and younger brother- in the rural plains of the Texas panhandle. She has a her dream job with the Regional Weather Service in the city. Hunger, homelessness, and inequality have been eradicated from this planet. Peace, love, and abundance are enjoyed by all. Truly there's nothing more a Soul like her should want for.
But one night, her highschool love, Kyle O'shea, comes tumbling through her bedroom window, like the memories of their childhood made real again. Returned from presumed death, and on the run from her authorities, he sweeps her off her feet just like when they were young, and takes her along on a grand journey of self-discovery, adventure, and life threatening danger.
The longer their spontaneous road trip goes on though, the more Sunlight Passing Though The Ice begins to think, her Community really should have left this planet, and it's people, alone.

Dean wouldn't say the angel was beaming, exactly but he could definitely see the hint of a smirk playing on her lips. He places a hand on her shoulder, taking in her height, or lack thereof, her hair all pulled back onto a single French braid, and her relatively nice attire. He tries not to let the suddenly glaring absence of the pea coat, and her subsequently bare arms bother him, but they do slightly. “Don't you ever change.”

Jimmy relents, only for Claire’s sake and the guilt he feels for having endangered her, though his daughter doesn't know it. Jimmy doesn't know that in doing so, while he still believes that an angel is talking to him, that in taking the pills rather than fight for his faith, Castiel believes he is retracting his consent before Castiel has even asked for it. Castiel does not bother with Jimmy Novak again, but turns to Claire who lays upstairs, ever faithful, even more willing.

Summary
The first several sections of Luminosity are very similar to canon in terms of the events that occur, although aspects of Bella's character, and her internal monologue, differ strikingly.
A few thousand words in, the plot is unrecognizeable.
The history and character of the Twilight world are intact in Luminosity up to the point where the story begins, with one exception: Bella's a rational self-awareness-junkie with a penchant for writing down everything that crosses her mind in a notebook. She maintains many of the traits and dispositions of canon - and Luminosity is a Bella/Edward story - but she's a distinctly different character.
Luminosity was inspired in part by Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, in which Harry is a scientifically minded and sharp-witted boy who was brought up by Petunia and her alternate-universe professor husband. Luminosity also draws on much of the material in a sequence of blog posts under the same title, also written by Alicorn.
