Summary
No one went to the Dungeons of Fear and Hunger and expected to return whole. The Dungeons took limbs, minds, faiths and lives without discrimination, and the scars left on the survivors were scars that would never heal. Hollow eyes, broken promises and a shadow that seemed a little too long haunted those lucky enough to suffer beyond its twisted halls of nightmare. None of that could break the oath D'arce made to her unrequited beloved. She would outlast any horror, endure through any pain and stand victorious over the body of any foe that the depths could throw her way, but the Dungeon's cruelty knew no earthly limits. One gap in her armor remained, and a moment of peace would grant a towering, savage Outlander from the North the chance to strike a fatal blow that would leave her fighting for her faith.
She was prepared to fight, to suffer, to die, but no sword or shield could protect her from the simple act of--finally--being loved.
