Summary
For one singular moment, Christopher’s face lights up in that way it always does for Buck, thrilled to see him. But Buck can do nothing to stop the way his expression changes as he takes in the shirt that clearly belongs to Eddie, his hair that is so messy it can’t be chalked up to simple bed head, and the fact that Buck is here, in his house, in the morning after a late shift. Christopher’s expression shutters closed in a way that Buck has never been on the receiving end of, and he feels his stomach drop.

The guns were definitively pointed at her now, the chauvinistic smirks gone from their faces. A chill breeze from the ocean swirled the smattering of sand at their feet, the fumes of evening traffic thick in the air. Hajek cocked his head at her, eyes slitted and jaw set. “You’ll do what you’re damn well told.” he growled and just then she felt Tim’s fingers slide into her belt loops.
“Baby, babe...” He drew her back against him, leaning on the car, and slipped his hands from her belt loops into her front pockets. Her concentration wavered precariously, fracturing in two when he brushed his nose along her temple, lips against her cheek, as he pulled her down to sit on his leg. Eyes on Hajek, skin burning everywhere she could feel Tim.
She couldn’t fight it. Sava wouldn’t.
