Monster/Human story I wrote on tumblr that I'm putting here since the purge didn't like it.
Othos is a gay guy living in Iowa, he’s best friends with his ex, and likes to use toys on himself for the people watching his livestreams. His family thinks he’s insane, and after he got mugged one night, he’s inclined to believe them. He knows what he saw though, and he knows that it's crazy, but he needs to find out what it is that saved him and followed him home.

Max just wanted to be left alone. He couldn't stand the constant sympathy - how terribly sorry everyone was to hear about his parents deaths, how he should call any time he needed. Well, he didn't want their sympathy. He just needed some space, preferably somewhere quiet where he could clear his head.
He thought he'd found exactly that when he bought his own home. It seemed just what he needed - a small place, but with big grounds and lots of trees, even a lake. Max could pay the mortgage with his dull office job, and in his spare time he could sit by the water and do his best to heal the wounds that haunted him. He told himself it would be easy - a simple plan for a simple life.
But there were complications. Max's boss was a bully, determined to ruin everything. His work days were painstaking, almost unbearable, and Max would probably feel like he couldn't go on -
If it weren't for the merman that lived in his lake.

Summary
