Summary
This is a RWBY Volume 1 story with original characters I created.
Artemisia Kynigos is a cheetah faunus, and wishes to forget her past. A past where she lost the memory of her twin brother and at the same time her voice. Wishing for a fresh start, she enters Beacon Academy, hoping it to be a way to help her leave it all behind. Until she ends up pairing up with someone who is tied to that past, someone whom she unintentionally also harmed with her actions. Will her past be unveiled in front of her new teammates, or will she keep that past of her buried forever?

Summary
She remembered how hard he’d tried to suppress the part of her that felt for anyone but him, shamed her with offhand comments and silent treatments and outbursts of rage. Every spark of attraction on Blake’s part was snuffed out, downplayed, punished before it had a chance to be recognized.
But Yang stood in front of her now, and Adam’s hold on her was slackening every day, and she wouldn’t let him touch Yang and what they had - not again. Now when she looked at the arm Yang had lost trying to protect her, she didn’t cower in fear for Yang’s safety, didn’t blame herself for allowing Yang to love her. She looked at it and thought, I will share your burdens. I will share my heart. I’m going to take care of you like no one else has. Please, don’t ever doubt that I will.

//Yang waited by the truck while keeping a protective eye on Blake, pulling the keys from her front pocket. She never noticed the sway in the woman’s walk and she knew it wasn’t intoxication — the movements were too smooth and fluid. Knowing this woman will be the death of her, Blake’s silhouette made her want to suffer a slow and agonizing death.//

There are a few things Yang knows for sure: nothing beats a fresh snowfall; all skiers are total nerds; her sister has never done anything wrong in her entire life; and every single time Blake Belladonna smiles at her, she feels like she’s at the top of her favorite slope, heart in her throat, board hanging over the edge. “I lost everything.” Blake’s voice breaks, the end of her word vanishing in a croak.
“Like what?” Yang demands, pushing on despite the fact that she wants to drop everything. The past pieces of herself—of them—are already on the floor at their feet. There are fragments and shards cluttered beneath them and Yang is done with attempting to find enough glue to hold herself together. “What have you possibly lost, Blake?”
“I lost my home.” You. “I lost my happiness.” You. “I lost the only person I’ve ever loved.”
