Marinette thanked them distractedly as she picked up the books nearest her, and then she froze as she saw a notebook lying open on the steps, right at Lila’s feet.
The words “Marinette Couffaine” were plainly visible, along with hearts and flowers and—Marinette’s heart leapt into her throat as Lila grinned slowly, and got up to pick up the notebook, as if she were just helping Marinette out too.

This story was originally published as part of my Month of Miracles December prompt month, and I'm finally pulling it out to stand as its own work, as it took over so much of that month. I've reordered a couple things and added a couple new pieces to bridge awkward spots.

When her grandmother insists that Marinette come visit her small town home to housesit while Gina's on a trip, Marinette just sees it as a chance to get away from the pressures of the city for a little while. She didn't expect to make such good friends, or to find a handsome burned out rock star working on the local Christmas tree farm.

A reimagining of the first date from Truth, where nothing goes wrong and everything works out. Straight up self-indulgent fix it fluff. Except it's less that I fixed anything and more that I straight up ignored it.
