He doesn’t, actually. Not at all.
But there’s a big difference between a traditional western Christmas and a Joestar Family Tradition, and that’s where Jotaro draws the line. Because that is not a holiday - that is a recipe for disaster, and Jotaro can think of very few worse places to spend the last days of December than his grandfather’s penthouse in Manhattan.
He's always been terrible at denying Kakyoin anything, though, and so... here they are.

But he’s visiting a coworker, someone who’s gradually become less of an acquaintance and more of a friend over the years they’ve been working at the gallery together, and when Jackson opens up his laptop to stream the anime they’d decided to binge that Friday night, the website is - it’s just there, and Kakyoin can only sit and stare in abject horror as the profile of the secret object of his affections flashes across the screen, dressed in something very tight and very, very small.
Because how is he supposed to forget such a thing? How is he ever going to erase this from his mind, dispel it from his memories as if he’d never seen it in the first place?
He’s not sure he can.

When Jotaro kisses him for the first time, in their hotel room near the Saudi Arabian desert, Kakyoin doesn’t even register it as a kiss.
Later, when Kakyoin and Jotaro are alone in the latter’s room for the first time since Kakyoin was discharged from the hospital, Jotaro cups his jaw and swoops in, and Kakyoin loses his voice.
Further on, when Kakyoin is considering putting his book away and getting ready for bed, Jotaro enters their bedroom with a soft groan, crawls into the space next to Kakyoin, and meets him halfway when Kakyoin leans in.

“You like that I’m weird.” Kakyoin finished triumphantly and Jotaro couldn’t argue with that at all. Kakyoin was such a strange and sadistic person and he liked him a lot. Possibly because of that. They kept staring at each other. Kakyoin looking like he had won the back and forth and Jotaro, looking right back, hoping he wasn’t transparent.

On Valentine's Day, Jotaro and Kakyoin end up at school getting swamped with boxes of chocolates and love confessions. All that love turns out to be inspiring.

Mondo lets his eyes wander the room then, feeling both giddy and nervous when he sees that they’re currently the center of attention of the whole room.

“I wouldn’t think so, Kuwata-san. It seems that the esteemed Ishimaru-san and Owada-san have simply decided to merge their beings together to create the ultimate symbol of hope. How wonderful,” the weirdo Nagito suddenly chimes in, cheery voice as grating as always. Mondo turns his glare to the weirdo, but doesn’t say anything, like he usually would. Sadly, while Mondo usually never hesitates to curse the fucker out whenever he’s being his creepy, weirdo self, Taka tends to ignore him, unless he’s breaking the rules. Which he usually isn’t, unfortunately. Being weird isn’t against the rules, Taka always claims.
But then—
“Fuck off, Nagito,” Taka suddenly states boldly, a scowl on his face that is such a good imitation of Mondo’s usual scowl that he honestly couldn't look away even if he wanted to."
