One day you get a call from your brother about a strange memory he has, and how he has reoccurring dreams about it. This reminds you of what has happened in the past between you and a certain king, which caused a lot of problems that Jareth wants to fix.

Summary
The reader recently did what is essentially a fae marriage with Jareth, and now their soul is bound to his with a ring. When the ring is removed, the soul-bond is broken until the ring is put back on. The reader does not know this and is in the habit of removing their jewelry before washing their hands. Accidental hurt followed by tooth-rotting comfort ensues.
