While everyone's being gruff and annoyed at each other, they all recognize and accept the underlying premise - there's romance involved, and so they'll all help to try and achieve that end.

The headaches had started just a few weeks after the strange lucid dream about the Labyrinth. The first time, her concerned stepmother had simply provided her with ibuprofen and put her back to bed, and she had been fine for several months. The second, they had taken her to the doctor. By the time she was twenty, they came several days a week, and her only respite came from a strangely familiar man whose face she could never see who danced with her in her dreams. But while his voice soothed her pain, his words filled her with foreboding.
