Summary
Nathaniel never asked for this. For his father to murder his mother in front of his eyes, for his father to not teach him the family trade, but to send him off to the Moriyamas as nothing more as an investment.
He did not ask to have his life decided for him, to now be forced to train to become an "idol" for EA, or Edgar Allan Entertainment in this dark facility.
And he certainly did not ask to be stuck with Kevin-Fucking-Day and Riko Moriyama in this already intolerable situation. But, with Jean Vyes Moreau arriving to Evermore, things seemed to brighten in the darkest hell.
Or: the author saw a kpop dance and thought "huh, Neil would look hot as fuck doing this." And put too much energy into dreaming up a Idol Au.

Summary
Neil used to love driving. Then his mother taught him how to disappear, and reckless speed became a liability instead of a freedom. Since her death, Neil has been under the FBI's thumb as an informant in exchange for keeping him safe and out of his father's hands. That is, until they want to drop him right back behind the wheel and into the center of the California street racing scene.
When word is circulating that the Kevin Day has run from the Ravens' crew and has joined up with the ragtag Foxes, the FBI believes they've found their in to taking down the Moriyama empire behind the Ravens. Now it's Neil's job to infiltrate the Foxes, gain their trust and flip Kevin Day for the Bureau.
Unfortunately for him, the Foxes' resident Monster, Andrew Minyard, becomes the most unexpected and dangerous problem of all. He watches too closely, demands honesty Neil can’t give, and draws lines that make running harder than staying.
Caught between a violent criminal empire, a manipulative federal agency, and a crew that’s starting to feel like family, Neil has to decide who he’s willing to betray and whether survival is worth it if it costs him everything.
