“Lan Zhan, courtesy Wangji,” he responds immediately, and then wonders if he should not have lied. It might be a bad idea to share the truth in such places. He has no experience with this, though, and can’t have known better.
“Ah, Lan-gege, so quick to answer!” The laugh that spills out of the man’s lips is even more breathtaking up close, and Lan Wangji wants so badly to feel that laughter against his lips, reverberating through his chest, pressed together with this man.
Lan Wangji, on his first night hunt so far from home, can’t help himself from giving in to the call of sin, of eschewing the rules of his sect.
